Synopsis: “Shogun” is a historical drama set in feudal Japan during the 1600s, at the onset of the Battle of Sekigahara. Lord Yoshii Toranaga, the most formidable military leader of the Sengoku period, faces an impending enemy siege. In the midst of this crisis, a British navigator named James Blackthorne washes ashore in his domain, carrying valuable secrets. Toranaga commands Mariko, a mysterious noblewoman fluent in English, to act as a translator for Blackthorne, now known as Anjin. As they work together, a bond develops between them. Amidst the raging war, their destinies become entwined as they navigate the treacherous political landscape and find themselves caught in a power struggle between two influential daimyōs. Adapted from the novel “Shogun” by James Clavell, this drama consists of 10 episodes and airs on Tuesdays.
