Synopsis: Zhang Daoling, a deity, escorts Tianting to Kunlun Mountain to punish Chi Lianjun for a crime. While there, they fall into a trap, causing Chi Lianjun to escape. Zhang Daoling is then expelled from his division. To protect the world, Zhang Daoling begins to pursue Chi Lianjun. Years later, Zhang Daoling learns that many mourners are being taken away by black and white impermanence and never heard from again. Zhang Daoling suspects that Chi Lianjun and his subordinates are using the mourners’ primordial spirit for his divine art, and he sets out to investigate.
