  5. I was once again appalled by the actions of the older men in the Shen family!! Look at the way they cowardly pushed Shen Huan to take the blame. Lol wait a minute was shen Qi’s grandmother about to imply they get together 👀😒. They should be ashamed of themselves.

    They were pawns in the emperor’s games but I think this split is good for them. Though it might be hard to wiggle out of this Yanxi has to stand firm or he will forever be used as a chess piece by the emperor and not have a life or identity of his own.

    Won’t you look at this. Instead of the emperor to focus on the hiking food prices he is busy paying games with lives. This also points to the fact that he is focused on the WRONG things!!

    I love Shaoyao for seeking justice for her man 😂.

  8. My hatred to the emperor is sooo wideeeee im shaking. Just because you can doesnt mean you should. He’s already loyal, you want to make him more loyal by hurting him. Well whose gonna be loyal nowww

  10. Controversial opinion: I’m a little sad to see the emperor be the final villain.

    He isnt a good guy but you can see that he probably once had potential to be good. However he has a serious mean streak, a serious thirst for power, and is not a fan of leniency. If you watch historical kdramas, he reminds me of some of the character interpretations of the 3rd king of Joseon (hes a popular historical figure who shows up in a lot of dramas sometimes good, sometimes bad).

    They never really get into it in this drama, but I’d like to know about how the emperor is viewed by the people and if his policies are good. We see the emperor’s viciousness with the nobles/officials/scholars, but we dont know how he is with merchants or the working class. Like, I know since most of our main characters are nobility they view the emperor as a villain, but I’ve watched dramas where he could easily be the MC in older age, fighting hard to keep corrupt and/or presumptuous nobles in check. For me, him truly being a villain depends on his treatment of the regular citizens.

    Bc honestly, Ive watched too many dramas where the nobles/officials/other royals ARE the problem. But at the end of the day, our hero was wronged and our heroine is from the family of the ONE official that has integrity and her family was wronged by the emperor… or so its presented to us. So for us on her side, he is evil.

  11. what a clever way to make them split and both realised it late! now as she said he will be controlled more! and he also realises that he cant rebel becos for what his nature he would imprison him or threat him since he knows his weakness! only way the country will be ruled worst..cost of living and then a water crisis and taxes will make people revolt…rest scholars will join force to get the emperor down and yz will join and lead them

    Who the heck is driving grocery prices shyhigh? I was thinking who will Zhi complain to now Yanxi is not there. Hope he still sort that out. It’s sad watching them cut ties with each other, but at the same time watch Zhi shine through her independence. She has no time for a broken heart 💔 instead she’s counting her million 💲💱😆

  16. – Hua Rong & Jiang guy got such a fast romance sub-story it was out of nowhere.
    – OMG, I really hope the Emperor is the final villain, bcuz I don’t want him to dodge karma. I want him taken down really bad. “I though you’d last a month.” The audacity.
    – The Shen brothers were the only real supports for each other in that family. It’s kind of sweet, but sad too. Still I like that the Qi still has his integrity.
    – Zhi made the right call, bcuz Yanxi was not getting a wakeup call. He would’ve continued staying loyal to his Uncle & maybe do worse things later on.
