☑️To Be Continued, Episode 5
I’ve been trying not to judge Ji too harshly, but his grumpy attitude is getting on my nerves. I don’t know what happened to drive a wedge between him and Achivich, but unless it was something truly earth-shattering, I will just end up thinking that he is extraordinarily immature. Other than his good looks, I can’t for the life of me understand why Achivich wanted to be friends with him in the first place.
With each episode that passes, I just think that Ji would be a horrible person to be in a relationship with. He seems quick to hold a grudge or to anger, but slow to understand or forgive. Also, I know that he’s supposed to be inappropriately blunt, but did he REALLY have to dump such a serious diagnosis as CANCER on that patient and his mother?! Especially since he is not completely sure? Talk about a lousy bedside manner!
Anyway, I hope that the thing that drove Ji and Achivich apart is really important and makes sense. I mean, something on the scale of Pran’s mother and Pat’s father in Bad Buddy, because if it’s anything short of that, I will be sorely disappointed.
Gonna keep watching though!
By the way, I think the voice of the actor who plays Ji is surprisingly deep. Sometimes, when he starts talking, I have to do a double-take. He isn’t exactly Felix from Stray Kids, but still…
Was this episode like a filler? I don’t feel like there was a real point it. Achi and Ji know how they feel about each other they expressed it last ep so why does it feel like we’ve taken a step back instead of forward with their potential relationship. And all the flashbacks, yes they help to fill in some gaps but I want to see them start to build from now and poor Achi is trying to show him every way he can that he loves him ,Ji takes baby steps towards him but seems like he’s stuck in the past. Ji needs to make a decision!
I don’t know, but Ji appears to be overwhelmed with too many personal issues. Like emotionally overwhelmed. It’s obvious a lot of it has to do with Achi, who incidentally, is the only person he looks happiest with when he’s not in his rags. It’s not so much him playing hard to get that annoys me, but him pretending to be disinterested in Achi, when he knows damn well he’s in love with him. I know exactly how to deal with those types of Fruits, but Achi is obviously so in love with him, so I’m going to let it slide. The unexpected cancer diagnosis he pulled out of a hat to the horror of the shocked mother and son was just vicious, pure insanity, lol.. I know I shouldn’t laugh, but that was hilarious, lol… Speaking of hilarious.., Song: “my heart is about to stop beating”... Peh: “then get CPR and get back to work”.., lmao! Peh got jokes! I like him! Actually I’ve always liked the delightful actor playing Peh in all previous bls he’s been in. I would really like to see him as the other half of a bl couple, which if my memory serves me right, has never happened to him in any of his bl roles. More of Gumbie/Ki would have made this episode all kinds of wonderful, but ehh, whatever! Happy Tuesday! ————> g’nite world……
I just realized I have ~soft-dropped~ this show at EP3. I watched EP4&5 back to back today but honestly, there hasn’t been much going on. Let’s see if I’ll remember EP6 next week or else I’ll pick it up again when I’m bored lol.
I don’t want to blame much on who’s “more” wrong in the past. That was 10 yrs ago anyway, and what’s important is their feelings are mutual in the present. It’s just frustrating.
Props to Achi for being proactive in pursuing Ji. The only thing I wish he could’ve done different is to verbally confess to Ji’s face that he likes Ji and he wants to be together. I’m only asking that from Achi not because his efforts are not enough, but because Ji is stupid. When Ji asked “What do you want from me?”, I kinda wished Achi said it right there.
Ji is the one making things hard for himself. I want to say that it’s valid for him to feel hurt when Achi left him suddenly back then. But so far with all the details, it just feels like he only thought of himself. I can make a pass for young Ji since he was a confused kid and all, but adult Ji is a different story. I have no expectations for this guy, I don’t think he’ll ever gonna take the initiative unless Achi is gonna die or something.
Anyway, I think it’s obvious which way is backstory gonna go. I’m not really expecting to be surprised, but maybe they can give a more understandable reason for Ji to be acting like this. Coz if it’s the same as what everyone is already thinking then Ji is just a brat.
It seems that Jirawat already knew of his feelings for Achi, but he won’t easily let go of his pride. So he threw out the fish line and lure and waited for the bite.
Since episode 2 or should I say since the day Achi returned, Jirawat was already happy. Evidence was shown on his face when Achi drove him home from the reunion.
Also, he hid his smile when Achi asked Ji to stay with him while he ate in episode 3.
Though Ji pushes Achi away after their kiss in episode 4, he seems to like what Achi repeated to him.
I believe the sequence of below screenshots of this episode 5 would summarize the turn of events of their present days to come.
I think Jirawat enjoys the flirts and being chased by Achi through their Post-It notes exchanges…🫰
Seems like Dr. Ji doesn’t know the significance of the rag rabbit plush given to him.
Dr. Song, Achi’s fan, made him realize that he alone is the first person to receive the fan’s gift.
See? Now there’s an importance of this personal gift.
😆 Dr. Jirawat: He’s mine and not sharing…😚😘🥰
🥺 After an earful of scolding from an unpleasant patient, Dr. Ji could use a shoulder to lean on. 🫶
Three episodes remaining, I like to see intimacy between our mains coming in the next episode.🤞
SO…(blows out an annoyed, deep breath) Let’s hash out the issues with this show a little. First off, I can see what the writers were going for with this. But it just falls so damn flat.
The problem is they are drawing out a very obvious backstory. If the thing that happened in the past wasn’t so dang obvious to every viewer, people wouldn’t want to drop this.
Fans and viewers hate when they are being force-fed food they already chewed and swallowed, we are not cows. Let’s not regurgitate this stuff. As we know they had a conflict, we know that Achi pretended to do something with Pear(likely date/kiss Pear) in the past, which pissed Ji off, and Ji didn’t even give him a chance to explain. Showing everyone all along that he was as childish then as he is right now and has had zero growth as a person. Thus hurting Achi, and in response, Achi went to the states because of it. Ergo this leads to Ji being mad at him like a big baby because he was in love the whole time and Achi promised to be there forever, but abandoned him. *Like boy, you did this to yourself, stop it.*
Now, in the present day, Achi is still head over heels in love with Ji even going so far as becoming a mega star because Ji said he would like that. And Ji is still in love with him, realizing he messed up as a teen, but not willing to admit it, idfkw, pride or some other boring prolonged baloney the writers want us to eat up. The problem with all of this is Achi and Ji would only be able to last this way for a very short period of time irl, and if they are going to base an entire show on realistic relationship problems, then the audience is not stupid enough to buy this crap.
We sit here with the knowledge that irl this issue wouldn’t remain this way for this long, someone would blow up first because they are hurt, and things would either fix or break.
So the writers are losing people because they are telling a story at a snail’s pace that the audience has already figured out, then given zero reason for people to stick around and see how that plays out. After all, while the couple is cute, they don’t even have a strong connection to stand on in the present. A strong enough relationship that fans can latch onto and hold on to that joy to ride out the crappy background story they already figured out in ep1.
Instead, most of every episode consists of Ji glaring at Achi, Achi doing his overly creepy huge fake smile to hide his pain, and handing something that Ji initially throws back in his face, but then later on accepts. It’s so bland because with all the backstory we already figured out and the side couple’s scenes, it leaves maybe 20% of the episode to take place in the present. And then we basically get that entire 20% of the present day being Ji throwing a tantrum at Achi while Achi tried to wait it out, like a patient mom with a fussy toddler.
A fussy toddler and a doting mother are probably bad parallels to draw for characters that will make out and maybe even do it later on. So probably not the vibes they were trying to evoke.
I love the actor who plays Ji, and I adore Fluke and can put up with a lot, so I will stick around. I came here for him, after all, not the series.
But as a BL author, I wanted to take a second and maybe put into words what others might be feeling and not be able to figure out how to put down on paper.
“Like why am I so annoyed with this series?… Ah, it’s because they are treating me like a stupid child who can’t figure out there was a super ridiculous misunderstanding when they were teens. I got that in the first ten minutes of episode 1. Why are we still here 5hours later?”
This is why sometimes perspectives are a scary thing…. It is all about perspectives. I would say this though, as teenagers growing into young adults, there was some leeway in how immature they dealt with the complexity of the feelings/emotions that they were experiencing. That it was okay for them to have made certain mistakes that may have caused some misunderstandings and whatnot… HOWEVER, as adults – it should not be that way as they were younger. Thus far, I am failing to see why or what reason is holding these two back for really addressing the issue that is between them as present adults.
I understand the drama is trying to slowly unveil the past to us, leading us to what caused their separation to eventually coming to the present for resolution. However, I feel like doing so, just causes or loses the interest of the viewers as we start to already make bias based on the information that is being revealed to us. Either reveal the issue in the beginning and then use the rest of the episodes to deal with resolving it. Or propagate another issue, with the old issue as the underlying basis of it.
P.S. I understand what Dr. Ji was trying to do for the last patient, but how he went about it and its delivery was not right or appropriate. He could have easily said, “Just to cover all of our bases, I would like for him to do an MRI. This way we can get a more defined look at his injury. Many falls can be caused by certain diseases or be a pre-cursor for certain diseases.” Not saying he shouldn’t go ahead and ask for the secondary imaging test, but he should not callously and carelessly drop the “cancer” word like that, DESPITE what his diagnosis/prognosis is.
So what was that? Btw the silences and looking at each other for no particular reason and the flashbacks that don’t bring anything new to the story, we would have prob saved enough space for another episode! And that Achi… first goes to the hospital with that girl and he’s running around looking for the kid and nobody cares… then of course, let’s put glasses and a hat ‘cos I’m so famous … 😂😂😂 And let’s not forget Ji and dropping the “c” word diagnosis to a 16 year old like it was nothing… wow… talk about callous and unfeeling…mum got off the rails and was super rude but you don’t drop a diagnosis like that, like you’re asking if tomorrow is gonna rain!!! And will please Achi stop smiling like a lunatic every other minute!! Aaargh.. sorry, yes, lots of negative comments but cannot stop… it’s making me crazy the amount of silliness on show! maybe I should drop it 🤔🤔🤔 but they are very cute at times and I keep hoping the next ep will be better… oh well…
I stand my ground saying Ji was nd still is a selfish ahole 🤬 All scared running from his feelings as if he aint start this entire mess. And to top it off he continues to keep being stupid. I still believe some misunderstanding happened and Ji went off on Aichi for no reason back then causing Aichi to move to the US without tellin him. Thats why Ji is all petty about it till this day. Move the fuk on we all know u want him so stop acting brand new 🤬 The misunderstanding is on his end but he wont listen.
I feel sorry for Achi ..but he is such a beat bish.. I too wouldve ran off to another country if i was treated the way he was. Ji has no right to act the way he does towards him in the present. Especially since Aichi has been going out of his way to show how he feels about him. Given Aichi hasnt told Ji he and Mona are nothing but friends now cause my dude got punched before he even got the chance to but 😩
