The pugilist world is ruled by the powerful Wen clan, which dominates over the smaller Lan, Jiang, Nie and Jin households. The carefree Wei Wuxian becomes fast friends with the righteous Lan Wangji, and during their adventures, the pair find out that the head of the Wen clan is the evil mastermind behind a series of plots that would wreak havoc upon the lands. Wei Wuxian’s attempts to protect the innocent members of the Wen clan from unfair persecution leads to disaster, and he goes MIA in the process. Wei Wuxian reappears sixteen years later, and works together with good friend Lan Wangji to solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and defeating the true culprit. Based on the Moxiang Tongxiu’s novel Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.

The best Chinese drama I’ve ever watched. The cinematography is amazing, and so is the songs (particularly WUJI), the actors and of course the story itself. It is very considerate by focusing on the brotherhood of Wei Wuixian and Lan Wangji rather than on the romantic side which is I think, originally written in the novel. I love seeing them as brothers/bestfriends than being a lover/couple (since I am for Wei Ying hahahaha; and I had a crush on Zewu Jun and Xue Yang).
The twists and turns of the story from the original novel, manga and anime makes the drama very much exciting.
This is one of the best Chinese drama I’ve watched

why every body saying its a bl series for me the drama is the first think I watched so I’m not sure how its differ from the anime but it defiantly cant be a bl for the series, I already seen the thirty seven ep and I don’t think its happening but the lead character so compelling and lovable I meanly watch it for him and I don’t think even if they wasn’t be true to the original story in the novel would make any deferent bc one of the thinks I like about it, that they focused on a mans journey and how he living his live other than his feeling for somebody
