  1. (I am gonna get a lot of hate for this but I am gonna do it anyway cause what’s a day for me to go without any discussion. lol ๐Ÿ˜‰)
yup i am gonna compare the two on going dramas which are based on the same theme: Step brothers to lovers. (I am gonna put this on both drama’s comment section and its gonna be pretty “me” biased, “Me” biased as in “my preference”)
If you don’t know which the other one is, I am talking about “Addicted Heroin” and “The on1y one”.
And to sum up what I am gonna say, I am more biased towards “The on1y one”. And here is why.
Both have the same concept, their parents remarried are now step brothers and there is gonna be love line between them.
But the parents in the only one are far better than the parents of addicted. they don’t make me want to slap them on sight for bad parenting but make me want wish them to be able to live together happily.
The storyline of the only one is better, by far, to the addicted one. It may be due to the so “thai” adaptation of the novel but its execution is lacking in so many things. the forced comedy is specially the thing that makes me wanna pull my hair.
the characters in addicted are not to my liking. one is too pushy when the other barely reciprocates. but in only one, they are both genuinely fond of each other. both want to know the other one and both try for it.
And the main important difference is, “the only one” is “coming of age” drama about youth and teenagers. Its about finding passion, loved interest, first love, finding the only one and a little about family. But about “addicted”, I am not very sure. It seems to mainly focus on family drama, but tries to mix suspense and other aspect making it so messy, & so very “thai”.
(I used to like thai dramas bro, especially bl series i used to watch were all thai, I don’t know just how the quality of those drama declined over the period. I still re watch sotus (which contains very little romance) and tharntype and others. they just had some uniqueness and a different lovely flavor. These days thai dramas started lacking that)
    ……….
It doesn’t mean the only one isn’t lacking as compared to addicted. The camera work and the makeup of the main characters is so terrible in the only one. whenever a camera focuses on their faces, the over makeup which is clearly not done properly starts to show. I hate it cause I am very conscious to it.
    ………………..
So as in all, I love the plot and direction of my on1y one and the another advantage is its 2 episodes per week. yeah!!

  2. Tian’s Very Moment tells me there was no coincidence that the two are still up. But then again, is it normal in Asians who think out loud. I noticed that most of the Asian dramas have characters that speak their mind and sometimes without discretion. Therefore, some secrets would fall into the ears that shouldn’t have been known about. In this case, Wang’s voice caught Tian’s attention. And Tian’s character is attentive to his little bro and could not pass up the chance to get closer help Wang. ๐Ÿ˜†

I think it was after seeing the first two episodes that I foresee the brothers would benefit from studying together. One could help out the other’s weaknesses in certain subjects. The benefit follows would be recognition to both achievers.

That scuffle defending Mr Dumb makes me so proud of the brothers. Wang righteously recognized the injustice and instinctively threw his bag at one of the bullies. Tian followed up protecting both his brother and Mr Dumb who he’s familiar with.

Based on the changes of clothes shown during their studies together, a lot of time has passed. ๐Ÿ˜… I was hoping the boys would kiss again when they hid in the closet. However, I am happy that the attentive Tian corrected Wang that the father called him Wang and not Shen Wang. Nothing gets past Tian. Just that and my heart swelled for Tian more and more. ๐Ÿซถ

All that aside, I learned that the handsome Xi-ge, the new cafe owner, is Mr Zhao’s son. The other thing is that Tian’s mom can’t cook. That explains why she burnt her hand in the previous episode. ๐Ÿ˜… She’s not the kind of mom who’s efficient in the kitchen. ๐Ÿ˜† It was funny when Tian was not fast enough to stop Wang from biting into mom’s poached egg ๐Ÿณ .

I love this series more each time I watch the dynamic between the boys. Wang act like a child around Tian. I mean he walked balancing on the curb, bothered Tian for refills during class and picked out ingredients he disliked to eat. Tian, on the other hand, has to remind Wang to pay attention in class, monitor him during their study sessions and massage Wang’s sore neck and shoulders. And gave Wang a piggyback ride home.

That cliffhanger of the delinquish beating up Wang makes me fume. And that senior who called Shen Wang out of the classroom must be in cahoot with those boys. I like to see them severely and I mean SEVERELY punished. No one lays a hand on the little brother. ๐Ÿ˜ก

  3. This episode was so cute, it feels like tian was shooting his shot with his dialogues lmaoโ€œmom can you cook the egg a little bit more๐Ÿ˜ฉโ€ he knows wang canโ€™t eat a raw egg๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ญ he also said โ€œif there is only one person in this world who can understand you then he is more important than anyone elseโ€ now what does that mean, I donโ€™t care no one can convince me that he wasnโ€™t saying I can be that person for you in between the lines lmao.

I also love how wang got tian out of his comfort zone not only is he talking to him heโ€™s also taking punishment with him, it was so cute how he stepped out of the class because of wang and letโ€™s not talk about how he went into fight immediately after he saw wang there, all in all this episode was just so cute.

  4. The school certainly handled that terribly. You have violent bullies and two kids who diffused the situation and they get the same punishments? What the heck?

  5. I need to start reading the novel cuz I don’t think I can handle waiting one week for the next episode

  6. Give my boy shen wang a break already! He is processing having a new family, a new school, catching up to a whole semester and now there we have a jealous boy pulling tricks against him. My poor baby..

  7. Tian is the embodiment of actions speak louder than words. Throughout the episodes, I’ve noticed how even if he acts all tough with his words, he has the kindest heartโฃ๏ธ He’s been taking care of Wang all along, previously discreetly and now in the open. Not to mention how he’s actually super nice to the everyone around him.

Someone tell me what goes on in Wang’s mind. Why would you hide in the closet with your brotha now? as if you’re trynna hide your lova’ from Mr. pops….You be actin sus over here ๐Ÿคฃ

  8. Shouldn’t the school call the parents in? That student purposely made someone fall and he even kicked him. Why was the punishment only sweeping the fallen leaves? ๐Ÿค” And why only 3 of them were called in by the discipline master when 4 were involved in the fight? I thought the discipline master kept saying that he saw the CCTV recording ๐Ÿ˜… Did Qi give a ๐Ÿ˜ˆ expression after that bully tap onto his back? ๐Ÿง

Why did Wang have to drag Tian into the closet? They could have just switched off the light if they want to pretend to be sleeping. It seemed to be implying that they were both in the closet ๐Ÿ™ƒ

  9. i love how the story is developing in this one and also how Wang and Tian are taking time to grow closer together….even though their mutual attraction is so damn obvious, as teenagers they would not find it easy to understand, express and act on it…the screenplay makes it feel very real…

this older and protective bro vibes that Tian has is so cute…and Wang seems to completely lap it up…great episodes so far..:D

  10. We got so many good moments on this episode, I LOVE them….Why is Wang so cute? I want to protect him and give him everything that I have ๐Ÿ˜‚

My boy really took the broom and started beating those guys, I died…I mean they deserved that and more ๐Ÿ˜’

This was not subtle at all ๐Ÿ˜‚ Yes, Come out of the closet
