I usually shy away from historical dramas because I feel overwhelmed by the extensive knowledge I lack about them. My natural curiosity drives me to want to learn everything, which can be quite draining. Moreover, I often find these dramas to be rather slow, so I tend to avoid them unless they include a comedic element.
At first, I was reluctant to dive into this series, but I’m so glad I did! It was absolutely enthralling. Knowing that it’s based on a true story with a woman at its heart makes me proud as a female viewer.
The production quality of this drama was exceptional; I was completely absorbed and didn’t pause for a moment while binge-watching the episodes.
The queen’s character is portrayed brilliantly; she showcases the ability to make swift decisions and foresee others’ actions. This character exemplifies intelligence, agility, and strength, yet her gender presents challenges to her aspirations. There’s no justifiable reason for her limitations compared to men, but societal expectations dictate that she should not chase after what has never been achieved by women before.
I must applaud Jong Soo’s performance; I can’t envision anyone else embodying the role as she did. The entire cast delivered impressive performances.
The thrilling chase scenes between the queen and the white tigers were absolutely exhilarating, keeping me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I doubt there will be a sequel to this story, as it wraps up with Bal Gi’s downfall and subsequent suicide due to treason, paving the way for the fourth prince’s rise to power.
This drama focuses on Queen Woo, so I believe this marks the definitive end.
she has so much aura
Second half was really good…. Only thing that bothered me was everyone’s costume. They all dressed like a bad weather. Really awful. Queen’s hairstyle n accessories were so hideous. Stylist should’ve watched some cdramas n implemented something better
“I did not do anything because I was told a woman could not and should not do anything. Now I will show you what I can do”…….
“You will fear the enemy’s weapons. But we have something they do not. The reason to fight. I do not want you or your descendants to live like chess pieces controlled by others. I will defend the palace and build new Goguryeo. And then I’ll end this war. Brothers, will you fight with me…….
Queen Woo 🙌🏾
In the eyes of her father who doubted and underestimated her, in the eyes of the youngest prince who thought in the beginning Queen Woo should have avoided the war, in the eyes of the late King’s general who felt Queen Woo dressed to fight in the war is too risky for her and also, in the eye of the clans that pledge loyalty to Goguryeo that joined in with their armies and amongst the eyes of the palace armies and brave citizens lending their strengths to fight to defend the palace and their families, Queen Woo’s speech won their hearts and boosted their courage in her to lead them to victory.
Salute to Queen Woo💜 👏🏾
Brothers AND Sisters, will you fight with me? Will start from the beginning, now, I guess.
I questioned silently why Eul Pa So’s bodyguard intentionally seized shooting the last pigeon message carried from the first episode but claimed he missed one when he reported back to Eul Pa So, turns out both he and the Secretary are the spies all along but his loyalty to the late King unto Queen Woo is admirable…
I feel like I would have loved this series more if SJJ wasnt the female lead. Gosh, I think I will be a proud hater of her for life!
Woo is mee, I’m at my wits end🥴
Queen woo is the man ,rlly like this show ,waithing for season 2
Omggg I f*cking enjoyed the drama QUEEN woo was so badass throughout the entire eps🔥
oh season 2 see u soon lol
really hope there is one
OMGGGGG!!! This is crazy. Ahhhhhggggrr. I LOVE THE QUEEN. She is on fire. You princes are all going to burn on ground.
Go Go Go QUEEN WO.
This was a good show, really enjoyed it, no fillers, and just enough episodes.
What’s with the ending????!?!?!?!?
Are We getting Queen woo S2?
I must say the second half was sooo much better than the first. I love dramas with strong headed female leads, and I am glad this drama gave us that.
So are we to think of her scene with the mended sword as the ending? Because this is a real story, the outcome of the war has been written in the history books and I think they did not delve deeper into the specifics of the war for the very same reason. Still a final scene would have been nice to watch.
This ending is a joke. Please, this script writer should not add to my anger this night….
