1. Where’s all the character growth 😭 it was going great until these last 2 episodes. I’m fine with Cang Xuan because his character is so obsessed and all this planning is going to hit its climax when he (spoiler) Jing.

   But Jing’s character growth is practically non-existent because it’s a cycle of;

   I LOVE YOU. LET’S BE TOGETHER FOREVER- wait can we wait a bit lol- NOOOOO LET’S MARRY AND BE TOGETHER FOREVER- actually we should probably wait

   AND IT’S SO INFURIATING

   and Xiang Liu is always brooding and being a wuss because of some circumstances that he could explain to Xiao Yao and she’d understand (unless the plot keeps being stupid). They don’t have to follow in her parents footsteps, Xiang Liu has already been given a way out by his foster father, and Xiao Yao does not need to go to war herself, and if she does then that’s just really dumb and unnecessary. They can escape to Chi Chen Village together and live peacefully until the fighting is over, and then they can officially get married

2. snake still conserving xy tears after decades is damaging my core ;'( I wish at some point xy will save him using some trick facemask just so that the future wont repeat the past of her parents. And not him thinking of grandchildren, then picturing them in the place of cc in the portrait. He want to be loved and understood so much but she is blind and not interested enough of course. at least xy please stop asking him if he would make a different life choice. He is actually living a pretty decent and consistent life as far as we know..

I thought she was going to do the marriage ceremony in her sister place with her face changing power- So Nain could escape the marriage and everyone would see her getting married but then on wedding night he would finally be happy and tell her it was REAL and marriage with her was all he ever wanted! and she was going to freak out etc.

7. This is the first time I’ve heard a female character admit that she’d rather put herself first and let her husband be miserable XD Only in cdramaland would I condone that since it’s usually the other way around. Haoling King is really a great father to A Nian <3

8. This show is frustrating asf, I really thought they’d resolve things quicker in this second season but they’re only complicating things further and refuse to let go of the character’s old tropes. Cang Xuan is still confusing his admiration for love toward Xiao Yao, Tushan Jing is still an indecisive coward when his help actually matters in the plot, and Xiang Liu is STILL a tsundere. From the looks of it, it seems like battle between the kingdoms is inevitable. I have a feeling that Xiao Yao is gonna face the same fate on the battle field with Xiang Liu as her mother and father did before.
