  1. I don’t want shumo to die, he really loved the prince, and took care off him

He was loyal to him, shumo knew he’ll die but still he made arrangements for him, he gave up his life so that the prince could take the fl back

I just hope the prince could come out of this blow and not take a hasty decision

  2. Prince Jing seems to be melting slowly. They look so nice together. Love how mei lin gets upperhand sometimes in teasing the still hardhearted prince. Funny and enjoyable interactions.
Also the hair accessory xueyi use … dosen’t it give away his shadow master identity???
Poor xiyan prince and shumo… I was really shipping them …. shumo took care of the prince so well.

  3. I kind of understand most of the players; Prince Jing, Mei Lin, and the Crown Prince. Prince Jing was taught by his mother to be a good soldier, and yet he was framed, used, beaten, scorned, and for a decade, he thought his mother didn’t trust him. It’s understandable that he is now a ruthless person who would use any means to exact revenge. Mei Lin lost her family, lost her community through no fault of her own, and is willing to kill to avenge them. I don’t know if she willingly joined the Shadow Works or Prince Jing forced her to join, but I believe at the moment she can tell that he was framed, and despite his ruthlessness, he is still a wounded person, so a kindred spirit? Then we have the Crown Prince, who has always been second. He was never meant to become the Crown Prince, the girl he likes has always had her eyes on Prince Jing. Prince Jing’s mother was good to him. Jealousy due to not having it, and wanting it all has turned him into a monster, and I fear he will become worse.

I don’t know what the king’s play is, or even if he is in the game at all. Then there is Yue Qin, for a while I thought he would do something stupid, but I guess we just have to wait and see. Then our pretty female general. I kind of dislike the fact that she seems to be someone with feelings for Prince Jing. It would be nice if they were platonic lovers. RIP Shumo, I hope Concubine Yan doesn’t do anything stupid, and I look forward to the machinations of each player.

Side Note – I hope this drama is able to hold my attention to the end like ‘the Mysterious Lotus Casebook’. I had to drop Allen Ren’s historical drama around episode 22 because it started with a bang and then sizzled out pretty quickly.

  4. What general Yin said was really sad. All the girls in her family eventually needs to marry into the royal family. She went against the norm to find another fate only to find this twisted crown prince being obsessed with her. Sigh..

  5. rip shumo you was a real one! 💯
even if mei lin is just a dead woman walking who only sees the ml as a means to her end, she still needs to be empowered somehow against him, not claiming him as her companion! he wouldn’t have come this far without her, despite that she’s still too much of a pawn. like he’s caused her so much pain, half of it she clearly knows, add to that he is a royal who has other goals apart from revenge…why are all of her eggs in his basket?! i think the 180 she did on him was too quick

  6. The chemistry between Mei ;Lin and Prince Jin is often good. She is a charmer when she wants to be. I‘m more certain that what the Crown Prince has been scheming towards all along was for Gen.Yin to be his wife and perhaps for her to eventually love him. I don’t think that she is the type to settle for number two, though.
